Waterhush replaces your handset and hose, so it suits showers with a hose outlet and a holder or riser rail. The 1.5 m hose, washer and PTFE tape are in the box. If you only have a fixed overhead head with no hose, it isn’t a straight swap. Not sure? Ask us before you order.

Not unless your shower’s manufacturer confirms in writing that a filter head can be fitted to your model. Electric showers heat water as it flows, and many makers allow only their own heads and hoses. If in doubt, keep the original head. Check your shower in 3 questions.

Water runs through the cartridge in the handle, and any cartridge adds a little resistance. How it feels depends on your system: mains-pressure showers have more to spare than gravity-fed ones. We make no pressure claims either way, so if your shower is already weak, keep your old head and hose until you’ve tried it.

In the box: the round handheld head with its cartridge already fitted, a 1.5 m hose, a washer, PTFE tape and an instruction leaflet. Unscrew your old hose, sit the washer flat in the new hose nut and screw it on by hand. See the four steps.

A drip at a new joint is nearly always the washer. Turn the water off, check the washer sits flat inside the nut, and hand-tighten without cross-threading. If a threaded joint still drips, add a few turns of the PTFE tape from the kit to the outlet thread and refit. Still dripping? Get in touch.

It swaps your handset and hose rather than changing any plumbing. Keep the originals safe and refit them before you move out. If your tenancy agreement mentions fixtures, a quick word with your landlord is sensible.

Calcium sulfite, vitamin C, KDF and carbon, together in one cartridge inside the handle. It’s there to reduce free chlorine. We don’t claim it removes fluoride, metals, hardness or anything else, and if your water company uses chloramine rather than chlorine, we can’t promise the same result.

We suggest every 3 months for one person, or every 2 months when two or more people share the shower. It’s a suggestion, not a promise of how long a cartridge lasts. The cartridge sits out of sight in the handle, so go by the date; on the refill plan the next one simply arrives on time.

Only the cartridge changes: the head and hose stay put. Follow the instruction leaflet from your kit, and if anything feels stiff, email us rather than forcing it.

No. Waterhush isn’t a water softener and won’t change how hard your water is or stop limescale. It reduces free chlorine, and that’s the only claim we make. If hardness is your main concern, a plumbed-in softener is the right tool.

We don’t make skin, hair or health claims. What Waterhush does is reduce free chlorine in your shower water. For a skin condition, your GP or pharmacist is the right person to ask.
